THE Kwara State Commissioner of Police, Alhaji Lawan Ado has charged religious leaders in the state to be alive to their roles in ensuring security of lives and property.

Alhaji Ado gave the charge at the stakeholders meeting held at the instance of the State Governor, Alhaji Abdulfatah Ahmed at the Government House, Ilorin.

The Police boss who described religious leaders as agents of peace said the Clerics are stakeholders in ensuring security in the state.

He also appealed to the religious leaders to come up with solutions to the soaring crimes rate in the society, stressing that Police alone cannot do it.

The Police Commissioner underscored the importance of community policing, saying that the Federal Government is already adopting community policing as part of strategies to combat crime.

Alhaji Ado explained further that religious tolerance is key for any state to attain greatness, and therefore tasked all religious adherents to imbibe religious tolerance.
