Atunwa tours Kwara North, promises accelerated devt

The Kwara State Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), governorship candidate, Hon Razak Atunwa has reiterated his commitment to the accelerated growth and development of Kwara North Senatorial District.
Atunwa made the pledge on Saturday, during his pre-campaign dialogue with the people of Kaiama, ahead of the party’s campaign flag off on Tuesday.
Atunwa noted that he is fully aware of the challenges facing the community and region in general, which he promised to address decisively, if elected as the Governor of Kwara State.
He said his administration if elected would ensure quick provision of transformers in Kaiama and its environs to enable businesses thrive and boost economic activities in the region
On the Kishi/Kaiama road, Atunwa who expressed displeasure over the attitude of the federal government said a vote for the PDP presidential candidate Alhaji Atiku Abubakar would address the politicisation of the project by the federal government and fully support the state to bring development to the region.
“Since President Buhari is not interested in fixing your roads, we are bringing the man that is more concerned in ensuring the well being of Nigerians.
“We are always here with you, we are not politicians that will only come around few months to election to disrupt the harmonious existence of the state. You all know that we are serious minded persons with track records in recent time’, he added.
Atunwa also promised to ensure youth and women inclusion adding “we would ensure youth and women inclusion not just in terms of appointment but by prioritising their needs and welfare.”
He said his government will run an open door policy where everyone irrespective of creed, tribe, religion or gender will be heard and solicited support for the PDP Presidential Candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, who he noted is committed to creating jobs for the teeming youth population, revamp the economy and foster unity and national cohesion among others.
In his remarks, the Kwara State PDP chairman, Engr Kola Shittu applauded the people of Kaiama for the support the PDP enjoyed from them over the years.
He reassured them that the future is very bright with lots of promises and urged them to keep faith with the part.
In their reaction, some of those that spoke at the town hall meeting were full of kind words for the Senate President, Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki, noting that his contribution to the area cannot be overemphasised.
They recalled the countless and noteworthy intervention of the Senate President to the community and by extension the region, noting that they will continue to trust the leadership of Dr Saraki who has shown genuine commitment to their demands.
Atunwa also paid a courtesy visit to the Kikon of Gwaria and assured him of his unyielding commitment to promptly meet the demands of the people, if elected as the Governor I. 2019.
On Sunday, Atunwa continued his tour of Kwara North with a visit to Etsu Tsaragi, Alh. Abdullahi Aliyu Ndapkoto and other stakeholders and party faithful in Lafiagi.
