The Emir of Gwanara, in Baruten Local Government Area of Kwara State, Alhaji Sabi Idris Kotokotogi II has expressed disappointment over the total neglect of Ilesha baruba – Gwanara road in Baruten local government area by past administrations in the state.
He however called on the federal government to adopt Ilesha Baruba – Gwanara – Bukuro road linking Benin Republic as a federal road to facilitate the development of the area.
Alhaji Idris made the call in his palace while speaking with our Correspondent, Abdulrosheed Okiki on the deplorable condition of roads in the community.
On the closure of the Nigerian borders, the Emir appealed to the federal government to critically look at the ways of minimising the effects of the partial closure on border communities.
According to him, the closure is taking its toes on the community as prices of communities had skyrocketed with a litre of petrol now sold for four hundred naira in the community.
Alhaji Idris Kotokotogi the second who clarified that not all those who live in border communities or pass through the border are smugglers urged the Federal government to ensure that petroleum products meant for Nigeria do not get out of the country.
