Kwara procures hospital equipment

As part of the ongoing free surgical mission programme in Ilorin, the Kwara State capital, certain critical intervention machines and equipment have been procured and deployed to the General Hospital, Ilorin by the Kwara State Government.
The Chief Medical Director of the Hospital, Professor Abdulfatai Olokoba disclosed this in Ilorin while speaking in an interview with our Staff Correspondent, Abdulrosheed Okiki.
Professor Olokoba said the equipment ranging from automated defibrillator, patient monitors, oxygen concentrators, electrical suction machines, manual suction machines, table top manometer to oxygen cylinders.
These, he said, were critical equipment helped in building capacity in the hospital.
According to him, the equipment will be deployed to the Commissioning of the four-bedded ICU of the Hospital and serve other surrounding hospitals owed by the state government.
The Chief Medical Director explained that ICU equipment would fulfilled the gap identified by the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria for internship programme for fresh medical graduates.
Professor Olokoba added that the equipment would also be critical in meeting the requirements for post graduate residency training in Family Medicine and Obstetrics and Gynecology at General Hospital Ilorin.
