Kwara Gov inaugurates cabinet, urges focus, sincerity, legacy

Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq on Friday swore-in commissioners, Deputy Chief of Staff, special advisers and members of the civil service commission with a charge to carry out their assignments with all sincerity.

At the colorful event held at the state banquet hall, Ilorin, Governor AbdulRazaq noted that the task requires focus, patience, sacrifice, tact, speed, and constant supplication to God Almighty to guide every step of the way.

The governor urged the newly sworn-in officials to engage, listen, and relate well with the people whose mandate had brought them to the government and see the state as their constituency.

“This task requires focus, patience, sacrifice, tact, speed, and constant supplication to God Almighty to guide us every step of the way. We must engage, listen, and relate well with our people whose mandate has brought us here. In doing so, we must see the whole of Kwara as our constituency,” AbdulRazaq said.

Governor AbdulRazaq charged the appointees to be ready to build a state that is viable, accountable, inclusive, responsive to the basic yearnings of its people, and is equipped with the necessary infrastructure and institutions to meet the challenges of the twenty-first century

In his remarks, the Secretary to the State Government, Prof. Mamman Jibril said the appointment and swearing in was in section one-nine-six sub section of the nineteen ninety nine constitution as amended.

Prof. Jibril explained that appointment reflects the desire of the present administration to drive stable, progressive and prosperous state and deliver good governance.

Responding on behalf of the newly sworn-in officials, the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Hajia Aisha Ahman-Pategi promised to justify the confidence reposed on them by the people of the state.

Our Government House Correspondent, Abdulrosheed Okiki reports that Banquet Hall, venue of the swearing in ceremony was filled to its capacities as dignitaries from all walks of life, including the Deputy Governor, Speaker of Kwara State House of Assembly, Grand Kadi, State Shariah Court of Appeal, top government officials and politicians attended the event.
