The Kwara State Broadcasting Corporation says it will continue to promote the country’s cultural norms and values to improve the living standard of the entire citizenry.
The General Manager of the Corporation, Barrister Mahmud Abdulraheem stated this today in Ilorin, while receiving members of this year’s Awon Mass Wedding Committee, led by its Chairman and General Manager of the State Tourism Board, Alhaji Funsho Aikore in his office.
According to Barrister Abdulraheem, it is part of the contributions of the corporation to support and promote social and cultural regeneration, adding that adequate utilization of the state cultural endows would bring about improved economy.
He also promised to support the committee to ensure the success of the festival.
Earlier, the chairman of the committee and General Manager, State Tourism Board, Alhaji Funsho Aikore had expressed the state
government‘s readiness to empower rural dwellers through tourism.
He said that this year’s Awon Mass Wedding would hold between thirtieth of October and first of November.
Alhaji Aikore stated that the state government had concluded arrangement to nationally recognize Awon Mass Wedding, Igani Festival of Kaiama and Baruteen, as well as Patigi Regatta as annual events and solicited the support of the corporation to ensure the success of the festival.
