Radio Kwara assures NGOs on protection of Women

The Kwara State Broadcasting Corporation has reiterated its Commitments to partner with Non Governmental organizations towards ensuring the promotion and protection of the rights of women and improve the access of women to justice.

The General Manager, Radio Kwara, Barrister Mahmud AbdulRaheem made the pledging today when the BAOBAB for Women’s Human Rights paid the Corporation a courtesy visit.

Barrister AbdulRaheem stressed the need for Government to pay a high premium in Women empowerment, pledged that the corporation would support the organization and protect its image to spread its activities across the state and neighbouring states.

The General Manager who spoke through the Corporation Secretary, Alhaji Tunde Aremu charged the organization to sustain its laudable programme towards eliminating all forms of Discrimination against women.

Earlier, the Kwara State outreach Coordinator of BAOBAB, Mrs. Hauwa Kulu Aliyu had called on Stakeholders and government at all levels to recognize the role of women and men as strategic in the road to holistic development to put in place enabling processes that would enhance women participation in nation building.

Mrs. Aliyu who said the Organisation exist in fourteen states, stressed the need for Government to ensure the practical functioning of existing structures that would ensure promotion and protection of women’s human rights.

The Coordinator strengthen the call for urgent action towards the equal sharing of responsibilities and the recognition of all contributions towards the survival of the Nation State.
