The Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF) has called on the Federal Government to stop wasting energy, time and resources in responding to critics.
The ACF, a pan-Northern socio-cultural group, however, urged the government to strive to deliver the dividends of democracy to the citizens.
The organisation gave the advice in a statement issued by its National Publicity Secretary, Mr. Anthony Sani, at the end of its National Working Committee (NWC) meeting in Kaduna.
ACF was reacting to comments by the United States Secretary of State, Mrs. Hillary Clinton, during her recent visit to Nigeria recently.
The group urged the Federal Government to disregard Clinton’s remarks and urged the U. S. government to step up cooperation with Nigeria in tackling the country’s problems.
On the disagreement between the Federal Government and the Lagos State Government over the creation of local council development areas, the ACF advised them to resolve the matter in the law court.
It warned civil society organisations and NGOs to stop meddling in the dispute so as to avoid overheating the polity.
However, the ACF urged the Federal Government and ASUU to ensure the urgent resolution of the seven-week-old strike to prevent further damage to the country’s education system.
