The Kwara State Governor, Doctor Bukola Saraki has described traditional institution as the bedrock of any sustainable democracy and custodian of the Nation’s peace and cultural heritage that should be empowered to play its statuary role.

          Governor Saraki made this observation today in Offa, while speaking at the fortieth coronation anniversary of Olofa of Offa, Oba Mustapha Olawore Olanipekuin Ariwajoye the second.

          The Governor explained that, traditional institution in the State had been instrumental to the success of his government through advisory role, maintenance of peace and order in their domains and mobilization of their people for government’s activities.

          He said it was in recognition of this that his government gave priority to the wellbeing of traditional rulers in the State.

          The Governor noted that, the people of Offa had contributed immensely towards the socio economic and political development of the State and prayed Allah to continue to grant the monarch sound health and wisdom in piloting the affair of Offa Community to a greater height.

          In his remark, the Chairman of Offa Local Government Council, Barrister Segun Olawoyin praised Governor Saraki for sponsoring the medical trip of Olofa of Offa twice to oversea countries.

          Barrister Olawoyin noted with delight that Offa Community had witnessed accelerated socio economic transformation during the reign of Oba Olanipekun.

          Our Government House Correspondent, AbdulRahman Sanni reports that, the Governor also today paid condolence visit in Offa to the family of the former State Treasurer of the People Democratic Party, Alhaji A. R. Sule who died recently.
