The Standards Organisation of Nigeria (SON), has begun the seizure of sub-standard and fake products in Adamawa and Taraba states.

The Zonal Coordinator of the organisation, Mr. Achema Aliwu, announced this in an interview with Newsmen in Yola.

Mr. Alewu said the products, including foodstuff, cosmetics, toothpastes and drinks, were seized in markets in major towns in the states.

He urged consumers to always examine the expiration dates and NIS symbols on the products' labels before buying to ensure they were genuine.

The Coordinator expressed concern over the mass circulation of expired and substandard products in major markets in the states, pointing out that they might have been consumed by some people.
