An appeal has gone to the Federal Governments to look into the problems of the Niger/Delta people beyond amnesty offered so as to finally subdue the crisis by the militants in the area.
The Mogaji Oloje from Ilorin West Local Government Area of Kwara State, Alhaji Nuhu Rufai, made the appeal while speaking with our reporter.
According to him, the unrest in the region was all about redressing the past injustice while the issue of amnesty package was secondary.
He noted that laying much emphasis on the amnesty package without any serious move towards finding a lasting solution to the problems on ground would not encourage the militants to surrender the areas in their possession.
The Mogaji Oloje commended the Kwara State Government for ensuring peaceful atmosphere in the State through industrialization and job creation.
He therefore urged the youths in the state to utilize the opportunity provided by the state government under the leadership of Doctor Bukola Saraki through empowerment programmes to be self reliant.
