Supporters of Mr Dare Bankole, a House of Representatives aspirant have lauded his emergence as the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for Oke-ero, Ekiti, Irepodun and Isin local governments in Kwara.
Some of the supporters, who spoke with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Wednesday in a phone interview expressed happiness and commended the process through which Bankole emerged.
Mr Taiye Olajide, a supporter of the candidate lauded the leadership of the PDP for considering Oke-ero local government to produce the candidate to contest for the seat on its platform.
He said this showed that the PDP was a listening party and ready to correct the injustice of the past, adding that the PDP in the constituency would ensure victory at the poll in 2019.
“I want to congratulate all supporters for the honour bestowed on Bankole to fly the flag of our party, for the House of Representatives.
“To all other contestants, we are all winners in Oke-ero, we need to support our own, this opportunity must not slip off our hands,’’ he said.
Mr Emmanuel Ajekigbe, another supporter said that the primary was credible and every other contestant had agreed to work with him, adding that his victory would be all inclusive.
He said that he was excited that Bankole was chosen to represent the constituency at the green chamber, adding that this had been a dream come true for the people of Oke-ero.
“I am happy that a son of Ayedun from Oke-ero emerged as the PDP flag bearer for the constituency to represent the four local governments, this is cheering and laudable.
“We have been expecting this for a long time and now we thank God that it has finally happened,’’ he said.
Mr Dare Olatunji, another supporter of the candidate commended the leadership of the PDP, adding that what just happened was fair, just and represented equity to the people of Oke-ero.
The PDP House of Reps primary was conducted on Oct. 3 in Omu-Aran.
