Kwara Assembly Begins final Consideration of Administration of Criminal Justice Bill in the State

The Kwara State House of Assembly, has began final consideration of the passage of the Kwara state Administration of Criminal Justice Bill,2017.The final consideration of the Bill by the House at the Committee of the Whole, followed the presentation of the report to the House, by the Deputy Speaker, Chief Mathew Okedare on Tuesday.Briefing the legislature, the chairman House Committee on Ethics, Privileges and Judiciary, Barrister Kamal Fagbemi ,said the Bill seeks to introduce a new regime of administration of criminal justice system in the state.Barrister Fagbemi who eulogised the initiative of the Speaker, Dr Ali Ahmad , for coming up with the Administration of Criminal Justice Act, in the 7th legislature of the National Assembly, disclosed that the passage of the Bill, would block all loopholes and fast track dispensation of criminal justice in the state.Speaking on the Bill,the Speaker, assured that the Bill would be the most efficient and sophisticated law in the State, when passed into law, as the law,according to him, will address all the inadequacies in the administration ofcriminal justice system in the state.Abdul Rahman SanniChief Press Secretary, to theSpeaker,Kwara State House of Assembly.
