KwaraSouth2019: Ekiti traditional rulers declare support for Sen. Rafiu

Ahead of the February 16 National Assembly elections, the Olosi of Osi, HRM Oba Salihu Adasofegbe and all other traditional rulers in Ekiti local government have declared their full support for the PDP Kwara South senatorial candidate, Dr Rafiu Adebayo Ibrahim.
The monarchs made this declaration on Thursday when Senator Rafiu visited the Olosi’s palace to seek royal blessings and their support for his re-election bid.
Speaking on behalf of other traditional rulers, HRM Oba Adasofegbe, who is the Chairman of Ekiti Traditional Rulers Council, commended Senator Rafiu for his outstanding performance in the Senate and declared that the monarchs would support his re-election into the Senate.
The traditional ruler also appealed to Senator Rafiu to reach out to other senators from Kwara and Kogi states to prevail on the Federal Government to rehabilitate Ilorin-Lokaja road to ease the hardship faced by users of the road.
Responding, Senator Rafiu pledged to act on the request of the traditional ruler and also thanked the Ekiti monarchs for their support.
The lawmaker also urged the entire people of Ekiti to vote all candidates of the PDP in the forthcoming general elections.
Speaking earlier, the Director-General of Rafiu Ibrahim Campaign Organisation, Hon, Wale Olawomo, assured the monarchs that Senator Rafiu remains the PDP Kwara South senatorial candidate, while also urging party members and supporters not to entertain any fears.
In his remark, the Chairman of Ekiti LG, Hon. Yinka Dallas described Senator Rafiu as a performing, accessible and people-friendly lawmaker, and asked his people to vote en masse for the senator and all candidates of the PDP in the forthcoming elections.
Also speaking, the Yeyeluwa of Ekiti, Hon. (Mrs) Ebun Owolabi said the people of Ekiti were appreciative of all Senator Rafiu had done for the local government and the entire Kwara South, noting that they would repay him by voting massively for him on 16 February.
After meeting with the traditional rulers, Senator Rafiu proceeded to SDA LDEA Primary School, venue of his campaign rally, where he was warmly received by a crowd of ecstatic party members and supporters.
At the rally, Dr Rafiu canvassed support for the PDP presidential candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, and the party’s governorship candidate, Hon. Razak Atunwa and all candidates of the PDP.
