The Christian Press Association of Nigeria (CPAN) has expressed gratitude to God for the safety of Vice President Yemi Osinbajo and other occupants of the Caverton helicopter which crash-landed in Kabba, Kogi, on Saturday.

A statement signed by CPAN’s President, Mr Bola Adewara, on Monday in Lagos, said that the survival showed that God ‘loves Nigeria and will continuously be merciful to the country’.

“CPAN joins other Nigerians in expressing gratitude to God for the safety of our vice president and his aides in the helicopter crash in Kogi.

“We pray that there will not be a repeat of such occurrence among us,” it said.

The association said that God saved Nigeria from calamity two week to its general elections.

It called on Nigerians to express gratitude to the Almighty for the survival.

“This body believes that such an occurrence could have truncated the entire 2019 General Elections; so, we should thank God.

“An in-depth investigation should be conducted into the matter by the Accident Investigations Bureau,” CPAN said.
