Dr Uthman Ajidagaba, Resident Electoral Commissioner in Nasarawa State, has said that the governorship and state house of assembly elections in the north-central state would be hitch-free.
“The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), has concluded all arrangements for the successful conduct of Saturday’s elections in Nasarawa State. God willing, there will be no hitch,” Ajidagaba told newsmen on Wednesday in Lafia.
He said that the commission had concluded the distribution of sensitive electoral materials to all the local government areas ahead of the election, adding that all loopholes noticed in the Feb 23 polls had been plugged.

Ajidagaba said that all the smart card readers for the election had been reconfigured, adding that the polls would open at 8:00 a.m. across all polling units.
He advised political parties to educate their supporters on the use of the smart card reader for accreditation so as to avoid confusion on election day.
The distribution of sensitive electoral material from the Lafia branch of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), commenced at about 11:03 a.m. on Wednesday, and ended at 1:42 p.m.

The distribution was done in the presence of representatives of political parties, security agencies and other stakeholders.
